DBN ZONE CONTROLLER

Our Durban branch is looking for an experienced Zone Controller.

Job Requirement

• Grade 12 Certificate
• Computer literate (must be able to use MS Word, Excel, and Outlook)
• Excellent telephonic and Communication Skills
• Strong email etiquette
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of routing drivers accordingly and allocating collection to the correct drivers
• Problem Solving Skills
• Knowledge of or experience in the Retail Industry
• Vehicle knowledge
• Strong leadership qualities
• Own reliable transport

Duties

1. Check freight in respective Zone (caged area) at start of workday against Waybills received. (Waybills will be attached to freight).
2. Planning: ZC’s to optimise routes according to Freight priorities and thereby create delivery efficiency.
3. Manifest freight for delivery.
4. Sign manifest when all freight is checked and hand over to driver for re-checking.
5. Ensure(oversee) that driver count freight being loaded into their respective vehicle.
6. Ensure that our Risk Controller has also checked, counted the freight, and signed off the drivers manifest.
7. Ensure that no freight on manifest has “Zero” value.
8. Any freight that has a “Zero” value to be corrected before driver leaves ’Zone’.
9. No driver to leave ‘Zone’ without a manifest.
10. Check drivers Dress code/ Uniform. (Safety boots and reflector jacket included).
11. Vehicle check: Clean and Roadworthy (Safety equipment: Fire extinguisher, Triangle).
